The truth is that smart, really intelligent people understand that beauty in and of itself is really not that important in the big scheme of things. Does beauty make for pretty pictures? ABSOLUTELY! But hopefully what we have to offer to the world is greater than a pretty picture. I found out that beauty is to relevance what hype is to substance. Hype may get you in the door, but only substance can keep you there. Whether you were born beautiful or you created it with surgery and make-up, at the end of the day, YOU are the only one who decides who you will become by the choices you make daily. If truth be told, “looks” have absolutely no correlation to the quality or beauty of the life you create! That is why it is so sad when we get side-tracked and are mis-guided by a pretty face.
We all want to be desired. There is no harm in that. And we all have a certain level of appreciation for beautiful people, places and things. But if you are anything like me, you strive to bring something to the table beyond what you look like or the clothes you wear. I want to be noticed because of my sense of style and how I carry myself, but I want to be remembered for my humility, intelligence and class. Always remember, beauty will eventually fade…so if you base your entire existence on what you look like, when it is gone, you won’t have anything left to sustain you! I’m just saying…
